In the mid 1800’s an estimated 10-40 million buffalo (bison) roamed North America. Due to the Great Bison Slaughter, by the end of the 1800’s there were only a few dozen left in existence.  Today, 90 % of bison in the US live on private ranches, most raised for meat. The last wild, true buffalo DNA, free roaming herds in Yellowstone Park numbers around 3500.

In 2009, A woman in Grass Valley California was determined to save three emaciated buffalo. The amazing bond formed with the male, Buffalo Billy, inspired the formation of Buffalo Billy’s Bison Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is the only organization in the world dedicated to the protection, promotion, education, and rescue of the American Bison.

Please join and support The Brotherhood’s efforts  to insure that our American Icon will survive and prosper for generations to come.
