Through Buffalo Billy’s Bison Brotherhood, you can purchase your very own piece of American history and own a real, live, American Bison. Who wouldn’t like to say that they own a buffalo? And who would not treasure the idea of ensuring that bison will live on for future generations, living in as natural environment as possible, able to live out their lives growing their herd families and roaming free? Anyone can accomplish that incredible goal through The Brotherhood!
Just last year, approximately 50,000 of our national treasures went to slaughter. You can help reduce these numbers if we purchase them instead through The Brotherhood. Also, there are many bison who need rescuing from cruel and unhealthy places, from people who decided it was “fun” to own a buffalo, but had no idea how to care for them properly. When the novelty wears off, they are often shot for meat or their hide, or sent off to the slaughterhouse. Or the owner just simply neglects them and they die a slow, sad death, as Buffalo Billy did, from parasites, or starvation/ malnutrition. You can prevent this from happening!
The Brotherhood will purchase your buffalo for you and send you its picture, with as much information as is known about your beautiful beast . You can name it and we will send you annual reports on how your piece of the American Wild West is doing. Your buffalo will be placed on one of our own ranches, or with one of our partner ranches and will live out their life roaming in as free of environment as is possible in today’s world. The Brotherhood will manage them for you and you will even have the opportunity to visit your bison.
You are not required to provide for your bison’s food, care or location for their lifetime. For those owners who would like to contribute to their bison’s care, donations are much appreciated but not required. The B4’s desire is to care for and manage properly as many bison as possible into perpetuity.
Market conditions vary from year to year, however you can expect to pay generally from $500 to $2000 for your bison. You may purchase one bison baby, or an entire herd. The brotherhood does not care about lineage, age, gender, or appearance…all bison are precious to us. However, we will work with you to acquire whatever your heart desires in owning your very own American Bison.
Purchase a buffalo for a friend or loved one’s birthday. Wouldn’t your little cowboy love to say “I own a bison?” Purchase one as a mascot for your school, team or business. Grab your friends/family and have a Buffalo Herd Party, where each individual purchases a buffalo until you have your own family/friend herd! Have fun with the concept, but please remember, that it is also going for a worthwhile and generous cause….. saving our American Icon……the American Bison.

After the initial purchase, our foundation cares for them. We appreciate donations for feed and care, but it isn’t required. Let us know if you are interested in saving and owning one of our American Icons, the buffalo.
If we donate is there any way we receive official documentation stating we “own” a Buffalo???
There sure is! You get a bill of sale and a picture. You bison is cared for by Billy’s foundation for its lifetime. You are not required to help with feed, minerals, deworming etc, but any contribution toward that is appreciated.
